The Jupiter Return Effect: The Secret Behind Epic Stock Price Surges
Analyzing the Impact of the Jupiter Return on Stock Prices
⏱ A 10-minute look into the Jupiter Return Effect
The Quick Take: Jupiter represents all things positive. But what happens to stocks when transiting Jupiter conjuncts the natal Jupiter? This once-in-12-year event could trigger unexpected windfalls for your portfolio.
Jupiter is associated with increase, positivity and is a Saumya (Gentle) planet in Vedic Astrology. It’s where we get the word jovial, Joy, and the phrase “By Jove”. In Vedic Astrology, it has many names, such as Guru (Teacher), Brihaspati (Lord of Prayer), but also Jiva (जीव), meaning life, living being, soul, or life force.
Jupiter is the planet of increase, and is generally everyone’s favourite planet. As one of the slower-moving outer planets, Jupiter has a large role to play in Financial Astrology, alongside Venus, associated with material wealth.
In one-to-one consultations, I align a client’s asset choices with both the astrological timing of those assets and their personal natal chart, maximising investment or trading results by syncing the client’s and assets’ karmic clocks. Timing is crucial: when Jupiter transits your 2nd, 5th, 8th, or 11th house, that year typically supports financial gains.
In this quick article, I’m going to demonstrate a few examples of the Jupiter Return effect. The Jupiter Return is a once-in-12-year period of time in Astrology where the transiting Jupiter in the zodiac conjoins the same angle of the same sign where the natal Jupiter was placed at the time of “birth” for the individual or the asset.
This once-in-12-year cycle is considered an especially good time. Think about the good things that came into your life at 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, etc. There are 12 zodiac signs, 12 apostles, and 12 months. There are 12 Olympian gods in ancient Greek Mythology. Chinese astrology also uses a 12-year zodiac cycle. Anything or anyone who is 12,24,36, etc years old will be in a 1st house profection year, highlighting and bringing positivity to their mind, body and how they show up in the world.
But enough with the esoterica, let’s show you a few examples of the Jupiter Return effect in action on assets. It’s important to note that I don’t have 200 examples to determine statistical significance, but when we see stocks or assets which will have an upcoming Jupiter Return, we should pay extra attention to the potential of that asset.
JUPITER RETURN EXAMPLE 1 | GOPRO
GoPRO Stock is up 156% in the past 6 months. That’s from May 12th 2025, to the day of writing, November 10th, 2025. The 200-day moving average confirms the steady upward trend.
We use June 26th, 2014, at 09:30 am in New York to cast the astrological chart of GPRO stock. This timing and location are drawn from official NASDAQ announcements and reports.
The inner wheel here represents the first trade for GPRO stock. The outer wheel tracks the transiting planets in the tropical zodiac and gives us information about the relative positions of the transiting planets to the natal planets.
Notice how in the “birth chart” for GPRO stock, Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. On the 10th June 2025, transiting Jupiter entered the sign of Cancer. Transiting Jupiter then conjunct the natal Sun at 4 Cancer on 27th June 2025, which really activated the price rise which occurred over the following month.
Over the following months, transiting Jupiter reached a 10-degree orb from the natal Jupiter on 17th August 2025. The stock had already seen a huge 64% bump from July 1st to August 1st 2025. The Jupiter return went exact on 2nd November 2025.
You’ll see that some examples here see the price rise occur when the transiting Jupiter simply enters the same sign as the natal Jupiter, some where the transiting Jupiter must be within 10 degrees orb of the natal, and some examples when the price rise occurs only after the Jupiter return has gone exact.
