EUROVISION
It’s weird to think that the 27 year old working at your office is actually older than the Euro. We’ve become so accustomed to be it being the central unit of value impacting the European economy, but forget that it was only formalized around 1999.
As of the time of writing, one Euro is worth about $1.17 USD. Forecasting houses anticipate this to rise to the $1.20-$1.25 zone, likely driven not so much by European growth but the decline of the US dollar narrative, which could hit the federal reserve as early as February 2026 according to my research.
But it’s not just 2026 we’re looking at in this article. The Euro has some concerning astrological timing coming up in the next few years which could signal the end of the Euro as we know it.
THE ASTROLOGICAL CHART OF THE EURO
Professional financial astrologers commonly cast a birth chart for the Euro based on its introduction as an official accounting currency on January 1, 1999, when fixed exchange rates were locked in and it replaced the European Currency Unit (ECU) at midnight in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, the headquarters of the European Central Bank.
On this date, Euro officially became the single currency for electronic and non-cash transactions in eleven initial member states. Irrevocable fixed exchange rates were locked between European legacy currencies such as the Deutsche Mark, and the Euro at a 1:1 ratio with the European Currency Unit which it eventually superseded. So this is the date which effectively “activated” the Euro as a functional currency for accounting, banking, and financial markets.
Libra, the sign of markets, transactions and exchanges, marks the 1st house. The ruler of this house, Venus, indicator of money, is placed in the 4th house of home, foundations, roots in the very corporate-finance coded sign of Capricorn. The Moon is in Gemini, associated with trade and transaction of information and value. Saturn is in Aries, which is important for it’s future timing.
HISTORICAL BACKTESTING
To test if the chart for the Euro is responsive, we need to do some basic backtesting.
BULL RUN CASE STUDY
The Euro’s most powerful bull phase was near it’s introduction as a fresh and innovative unit of currency. The single strongest stretch was roughly early 2008 into mid July 2008, when the euro surged from the low $1.40 USD area to just above $1.60 - a rise in value of about 12%, which is absolutely massive for a currency.
As you can see in this price chart above the value of the Euro really picked up around February 2008 through May 2008. Let’s check the transit chart for the Euro around February 2008.
This chart isn’t even particularly subtle with it’s indications of price rise. We see transiting Jupiter at 10 degrees Capricorn conjoining the natal Sun at 10 degrees Capricorn precisely. A Jupiter-Sun conjunction is a classic indicator for price rise, expansive optimism and positive energy which I have seen can lead to price rises in assets. At the same time, transiting Venus is also there to kick off this strong period of price rise for the Euro at 10 degrees Capricorn over the natal Moon the following day. Mars at 24 Gemini is also conjunct the Moon, giving aggressive energy for price growth.
And that’s not all. The powerful price surge lasts into May, where we see transiting Uranus conjoin the natal Jupiter.
This can only occur in a chart once every 84 years, and combines the indications of Uranus - innovation, electricity, shock, surprise, volatility, with the indications of Jupiter - increase, positivity, expansion. This Uranus conjoining the natal Jupiter at 21 Pisces helped keep the Euro at around the $1.55 USD area during that bull run.
BEAR CASE STUDY
What about a Euro bear market? Is the chart for the Euro still responsive?
The worst bear market for the Euro in recent history was the slide towards parity with the USD in 2022. The 1st half of 2022 stands out as one of the worst stretches for the Euro.
As you can see in the price chart above, the worst of the dip occurred around May where it hit roughly $1.03 USD.
Let’s check our astrology chart.
This is pretty uncanny. We see Saturn, planet of restriction and negativity, precisely at 24 Aquarius, over the natal Ketu - a point that indicates loss, dispersion, and anti-materialism. This only occurs every 28.5 years or so.
Adding to this, transiting Pluto at 28 Capricorn is in a tough square aspect to the natal Saturn within 2 degrees, indicating challenges to power and authority (and therefore, value and price).
Neptune, planet of idealism and optimism, is in a tough square aspect with the natal Moon precisely at 24 Degrees Pisces and Gemini respectively - this Neptune Square Moon aspect indicates a crisis of confidence and confusion.
This chart is a good example of the “rule of 3” in Financial Astrology, in which we attempt to see 3 strong astrological events in the chart occurring around the same time period to make an informed prediction.
So, it seems we have a pretty responsive chart for the Euro. What fate lies in store for the Euro in the future? It’s looking tough.
FUTURE FORECAST: THE FUTURE OF THE EURO
We’ll now analyze the future astrology of the Euro in 2026 and beyond, as it enters some pretty important time periods over the next few years.
PROFECTION YEAR
From the 1st January 2026, the Euro will enter a 4th house profection year. This is all about the foundations, the root, the legacy, the history and security of the Euro.
If we go back to the last 4th house profection year, 2013, the Euro was still recovering from the sovereign debt crisis, with strong themes on home, security and foundations showing up in how Europe handled growth, housing, and the integrity of the currency block.
Policy debates in 2013 heavily focused on keeping the Euro area intact and stabilising banks (which I think we may see more of in 2026.) There was a sense of dealing with structural, foundational weaknesses, which fits a fourth house narrative that we might see repeat itself in 2026.
The 4th house is also related to family - and questions in 2013 included those of who belonged inside the euro family after countries like Greece, Spain and Italy dealt with deep recessions and austerity in 2013.
So, in 2026, we might expect similar themes of stabilising the domestic base, talks about who belongs in the Euro, eurozone housing affordability and debates about fiscal burden sharing inside the bloc.
VARSHAPHALA CHART 1 | JANUARY 2026 - 2027
This solar return chart for the Euro attempts to show the general results of the year from January 2026 through 2027. We see Jupiter, planet of expansion in the 1st house of Leo but also Ketu in the 1st house within 4 degrees of that Jupiter. The ruler of the 10th house of career is Venus in Scorpio in the 4th. The Moon is almost conjunct the IC. Jupiter in the 1st here indicates expanded presence, narrative, but Ketu suggests the narrative may not live up to the hype and result in volatility and “hollow” growth. The Moon on the IC suggests there is a sensitivity to internal economic conditions in Europe - real estate and land, security issues.
For me, this is neither overly bearish or bullish. It’s a more abstract and diffuse chart.
VARSHAPHALA CHART 2 | JANUARY 2027 - 2028
This chart has Libra ascendant with the ruler of the ascendant being Venus in the 5th house in Aquarius. Rahu, Pluto, Venus and Moon are in the 5th house in Aquarius. There is a sense of technological revision being started. The aquarian archetype is the technological. With so much focus on the 5th house in this chart, is the Euro being transformed into a digital currency or European CBDC? We need to look at other timing techniques to determine if the Euro even exists as we know it today in the future.
VIMSHOTTARI DASHA
Using the Vedic Dasha timing technique, we see that Jupiter Major period is occurring from 2020 to 2036, but we see a very difficult ketu antardasha (sub-period) from February 2027 through January 2028. Ketu speaks to reduction, dispersion, loss, disappearance and dissolution, so naturally its not looking so bullish for the Euro. Ketu also represents blockchain technology in my research, so is 2027 through 2028 the time period when the Euro’s value slips down as a messy transition to a European CBDC occurs?
THE KEY DATES FOR THE EURO IN 2026
Jupiter remains in the 10th house in Cancer till July 2026, suggesting positive overall reputation and stability in the 1st half of 2026. It’s quite stable, leaning bullish. If we see the dollar suffer more in the 1st half of 2026, this might generally benefit the value of the Euro, which overlaps with this time period of Jupiter being in the 10th house until July 2026.
Since the entrance of Jupiter into the Euro’s 10th house of reputation, the Euro has generally strengthened against the US dollar, but with a grind rather than a value spike. The Euro has been in a clear uptrend relatively speaking when it comes to its strength against other currencies, and this will likely continue in 2026 as the dollar suffers.
BULLISH TIMEFRAMES FOR THE EURO IN 2026
As mentioned, the 1st half of 2026 looks ok for the Euro. There may be strength against the dollar, stability and enhanced trade of the Euro if the USD is looking shaky after February.
The 27th February sees a positive transit of Venus at 21 Pisces over the natal Jupiter at 21 Pisces. Mercury is around at 22 Pisces at this time too. February looks generally stable and positive for the Euro, although we may see some turbulence with the USD, the federal reserve and the markets as a whole at this time.
19th May - Uranus trine Neptune, Jupiter Trine Jupiter, Saturn Trine Pluto. This indicates renewed strength and positive sentiment. It could be the most “bullish” month for the Euro in 2026.
BEARISH TIMEFRAMES FOR EURO IN 2026
28th March - Transiting Neptune Opposes the Ascendant - a sense of the idealism of the Euro under question, revising the original positive vision for the euro, a looming question of confidence for the euro in the future may present themselves at talks and conferences in Europe.
April may be a tougher month on the Euro, as we see transiting Chiron at 26 Aries conjoin the natal Saturn. This can be a reduction in positive sentiment or value at this time, but nothing overly dramatic. As I’ve mentioned before, I anticipate April might have some increase in war activity, so could this be having a knock-on effect for the Euro? If Europe gets more involved with the Russia-Ukraine war at this time, currency traders would most likely look to swap their positions out of the Euro.
The bigger karmic storyline for the Euro starts in my view around December 2026, with significant changes coming in 2027 and 2028. By December 2026, we see a nodal opposition or half-nodal return, where Rahu conjoins the natal Ketu and Ketu conjoins the natal Rahu.
A nodal opposition speaks to a karmic turning point in the development of this asset. Occurring in the 11th and 5th house axis related to networks, communities, alliances (11th house) and speculation, trading and investment (5th house).
With the natal North Node in the 11th, the natal chart describes a currency whose fate tends to favour instituional alliances, policy networks and larger organisations and groups (think, the E.U. and European block as a whole). With Ketu conjoining this point, there may be reduction, loss and dispersion in those alliances which fundamentally shape the value of the Euro (Think - war activity, member state losses?). As part of the same move, the North Node, represents increase, bullishness and greed, lands in the 5th house of speculation and gambling “over” the losses indicated.
Put simply, if the EU’s core structures weaken or key alliances fracture around December 2026, currency speculators and broader market forces are likely to turn against the Euro, triggering a feedback loop of self‑reinforcing sell‑off and prolonged decline in its value.
To gain confluence on whether this is the unfolding narrative, we can look at the astrological chart for the European Union itself.
THE CHART OF THE EUROPEAN UNION
November 2026 looks tough for the chart of the European Union. There are lots of tough aspects, but the main one I’m looking at is Uranus conjunct Ketu in the 11th house. This can be translated down as: “Unexpected or shocking losses in alliances, networks and collectives". As of the time of writing, we know that countries such as Hungary and the Netherlands have strong eurosceptic movements right now.
THE EURO IN 2027 AND 2028
As a result of this possible European alliance breakdown, the Euro is facing a real reckoning in the summer of 2027. On July 31st, transiting Uranus, planet of revolution, change and unexpected shocks, will precisely oppose the Euro’s natal Pluto - planet of power and wealth. This indicates a really tough challenge to the Euro’s power, status, value and legitimacy and looks like a crisis moment for the currency.
At the same time, the Euro is experience it’s Saturn Return - a once every 28.5 year transit where transiting Saturn comes back to the same area in the chart where it was at the time of “birth.”
A Saturn return cycle brings restrictions, maturation, obstacles to surmount, pressure and stress which form the next iteration of the person or thing in question. Having a Saturn return whilst Uranus is opposing the natal Pluto is speaking to a crisis in the use and value of the Euro as we know it in Summer 2027. It is a highly challenging period and we could see the value decrease amidst heavy volatility.
2028 doesn’t look any easier, with Saturn transiting the 8th house of Taurus and making a square to the natal Uranus around 12th July 2028. Saturn transiting the 8th house is really one of the most difficult transits in astrology and speaks to fear, paranoia, debt, panic, deep rooted money, and crisis. A square to the natal Uranus adds extra volatility and destabilization at this time, with Ketu, planet of reduction and loss, transiting Cancer, the 10th house of status and career.
If the Euro survives this transit and is still around by 2028, then it looks like the Shani Sade Sati period could essentially finish it off by 2029 into 2034. Sade Sati is a period of time so well known in Vedic Astrology that even the average Indian will have heard of it in daily life. The peak Sade Sati period, or period of most negative compression, occurs around 2032. Bitcoin will experience this in 2026, and it is fundamentally bearish.
Perhaps this is the death of the Euro. By the peak Sade Sati period of 2032, Saturn will be at the 3rd degree of Cancer, the 10th house of the Euro, exactly conjunct the Euro’s Midheaven angle. This brings further restriction and negativity to the public reputation and status of the Euro. In terms of tough transits, the Euro is taking hit after hit over the next 7 years and I don’t think we see it survive in its current form. Something will likely replace the Euro and this is most likely to be some form of European CBDC or blockchain based digital currency.
This is really interesting, because if the EU passes the current digital euro regulation in 2026, the Eurosystem would then need roughly 2.5 to 3 years of technical work before we see any operational digital euro, so it would likely roll out around 2029 to 2030, just as we see a peak in the tough destructive transits for the Euro as we know it. Transition phase instability will likely create heavy volatility and value reduction for the price of the Euro as we know it as the transition will be messier and more destabilizing than most anticipate.

The backtesting section really strengthens this. Seeing the 2008 Jupiter-Sun conjunction line up with that bull run, and then Saturn hitting Ketu in 2022 during the parity slide, gives real credibility to the natal chart. The December 2026 nodal flip sounds like when alliances start fraying under pressure. Had something similiar play out in commodity markets where institutional confidense collapsed faster than fundamentals.
