The Astrology of $META
An Aquarius Eclipse & The Financial Astrology of the Metaverse
⏱ A 20-minute look into the fascinating astrological correlations of Meta stock.
The Quick Take: Meta ($META) is undergoing a rapid evolution, fueled by AI investments and dramatic stock volatility. Vedic astrology, keyed to its 2021 rebrand, highlights turbulent periods this December, calling for caution, while February marks opportunities for bold moves as creative breakthroughs and a bullish window emerge for investors.
INTO THE METAVERSE
META 0.00%↑ stock has tanked 15% in just over 5 days this week as Ketu, planet of reduction, conjuncted the tech giant’s Midheaven angle within 1 degree, whilst transiting irritant Mars conjunct the natal Ascendant angle, all placing reductive energies upon the value and reputation of the stock.
We all previously knew Meta Platforms as Facebook. This giant technology conglomerate is one of the magnificent 7, focused on social media, virtual reality, and metaverse development. It owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Could this spell of negative astrology be an excellent opportunity to buy the dip on Meta stock?
For financial astrology, the “natal chart” of a stock typically uses the initial public offering (IPO) date and time as the birth moment, representing the entity’s public inception. Many astrologers continue to use the chart of the original Facebook IPO, dated to 2012. However, we need to take into consideration the significant rebranding project from Facebook to Meta. So, we will be using a new chart for $META, and not the old Facebook chart.
The selected chart for Meta Platforms uses the corporate rebranding announcement that occurred on October 28, 2021, but uses Manhattan, New York, at 09:30 am to capture the opening of the stock market trading session on that day. This is the day that Facebook truly turned into Meta, and Facebook stocks bought at open were now, in essence, Meta stocks.
The ticker symbol was changed about a year later, but we use this rebranding chart in financial astrology because it offers a more resonant natal framework for analysing Meta’s post-2021 trajectory. I’ve also seen professional practitioners like Kate Silas empirically testing this chart against the original May 2012 Facebook IPO chart, finding superior alignment with recent events such as the Q2 2025 earnings.
So, we use the following chart for Meta:
October 28, 2021, 09:30 am, Manhattan, New York
DEEP CHART ANALYSIS
Meta stock has the following astrological chart:
MOON SIGN & NAKSHATRA
The Moon is in Leo, in the 10th house, in Puṣya Nakshatra. This literally speaks to the moment of total brand transformation. The 10th house is career/reputation and status in the world, Leo is leadership, creativity and generative capacity, and Pushya is a highly auspicious nakshatra associated with growth, success, completion and fruition. It’s essentially the success Nakshatra, so it speaks well to the successful transformation from Facebook to Meta.
RISING SIGN & NAKSHATRA
Meta has that very late, anorectic degree of 29 Scorpio. This evokes the Scorpionic crisis-to-transformation themes, mirroring Meta’s rebrand as a bold pivot from the deteriorating reputation of Facebook to the fresh start of Meta. The ascendant is in Anurādhā Nakshatra, which is actually generally associated with relationships, love and devotion to a cause, but we can take the symbol of the Lotus rising from the mud as speaking to Meta being a breaking away from the dirty and dark reputation of Facebook, in an attempt bring a fresh brand into the market, from the foundations of what was Facebook.
SUN SIGN & NAKSHATRA
The Sun is in Scorpio in the 1st house, giving self-confidence, power, and fame to the rebranding project. Scorpio is powerful, it’s to do with transformation and power, and the Sun being there points towards public perception of a transformed company with new power and growth potential. The Sun is in Svāti Nakshatra. Svāti translates to “The Maverick” and is about independence, fast movement, progress, differing, leaving behind, and always being on the move.
The symbol is a single blade of grass flowing in the wind. The Nakshatra is ruled by Vayu, god of wind, and is speaking to the airy, instantaneous messaging and power of Meta’s apps - Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, Oculus - all known for instant communication of text, audio, sound and video through the air, evokeing the image of of sending and sharing content swiftly through the air element, which is what Swati is all about.
OTHER ALIGNMENTS
Saturn and Jupiter sit in Aquarius in the 4th house. This is all about resetting the foundations of Meta. It’s no longer just social media, but the Aquarian age as a whole, that it wants to expand into (Jupiter) and materialise (Saturn). The 4th house is the home, the root, the base, and the foundations, and so we see Meta planting new roots in the Aquarian topics of Social Media, Robotics, Augmented Reality, and most importantly, Artificial Intelligence.
BACKTESTING THE PRICE ACTION
META’S BIGGEST PRICE DROP | FEBRUARY 4TH, 2022
From January 28th 2022, to February 4th 2022, Meta's stock collapsed -26% in a single week. This is obviously larger than the -15% correction the stock witnessed this week. This was due to the Q4 2021 earnings miss amid Apple privacy changes and was the worst week on record for Meta. Just 6 weeks before this event, we saw a total solar eclipse at 12 Sagittarius, which is Meta’s 2nd house of everyday money and resources.
Astrologers generally give a wider timeframe to Eclipses, stating their impacts can manifest up to 6 months after the eclipse itself. Given that timeframe, we saw a fairly instant hit to Meta's stock valuation.
In terms of the Vedic Sub-Sub Period (Pratyantardasha), we saw a less auspicious Mars Pratyantardasha running from 18th October to 23rd December. Mars is placed in the 12th house of loss in Meta’s chart, debilitated in Libra.
Note how the Venus Antardasha (Sub Period) running from 5th November 2021 through to 3rd January 2025 delivered a positive 91% overall gain for the stock during this period. Venus or Jupiter dominated Mahadashas, Antardashas or Pratantardashas are always worth considering.
